Marion 'Suge' Knight has been admitted to an Arizona hospital after sustaining facial injures in a fight at a hotel.

The Death Row Records founder was involved in a brawl at the W hotel in Scottsdale which began after "heated words in the VIP area", according to police.

Knight is believed to have broken facial bones after being punched twice during in the incident and was treated in hospital.

Two men, named as Robert Carnes and Leon Anderson, were arrested and charged with aggravated assault and disorderly conduct, according to the Reuters news agency, with police forced to use taser guns to break up the scuffle.

Knight, the music mogul behind the careers of Tupac Shakur, Dr Dre and Snoop Dogg, has had numerous run-ins with the law, including drug offences and probation violations.

Last August he was detained after punching an unnamed woman while holding a knife, following a minor traffic accident in Las Vegas.

Knight was charged with assault with a deadly weapon, battery domestic-violence, possession of a controlled substance and possession of dangerous drugs without a prescription, though no formal charges have been brought.
