Randy Travis - Randy Travis Charged With Driving While Intoxicated

The singer crashed his car in a construction area and was reportedly found naked lying on a stretch of road in Grayson County, Texas on 7 August (12).

He was taken into custody on suspicion of a Dwi and on Wednesday (09Jan13) he was formally charged with the misdemeanour after new test results confirmed his blood alcohol level was almost twice the legal limit.

If convicted, Travis faces up to two years behind bars and a $4,000 fine (Gbp2,500), according to the Associated Press.

But the troubled star's legal problems are far from over - he still faces one count of retaliation after allegedly threatening police officers who arrived at the scene.

Travis, who has since given up drinking, is also heading to trial over allegations he assaulted his girlfriend's estranged husband during an altercation outside a church.
