Ralph Fiennes - Ralph Fiennes To Receive Film Prize

Ralph Fiennes and Kenneth Branagh are set to earn major prizes at the Moet British Independent Film Awards.

The 'Harry Potter' star will pick up the Richard Harris Award - which recognises an outstanding contribution to British film - at the ceremony at London's Old Billingsgate on December 4, with the actor-and-director set to take home the Variety Award.

Previous winners of the Richard Harris Award include John Hurt, David Thewlis, Bob Hoskins, Jim Broadbent, Daniel Day-Lewis and last year's recipient Helena Bonham Carter.

Kenneth's Variety Award - which was won by Liam Neeson last year, and has previously been given to Sir Michael Caine, JK Rowling, Dame Helen Mirren, Richard Curtis, Michael Sheen and Keira Knightley - gives recognition to an actor, director or producer whose work has helped put the international spotlight on the UK.

Ralph and Kenneth are set to attend the event - which is currently in its 14th year - to collect their prizes.

One movie will be crowned with the Best British Independent Film award, which has previously been won by 'Slumdog Millionaire', 'The Constant Gardener' and 'This Is England'.

Colin Firth's 'The King's Speech' took home the accolade last year, one of the movie's five gongs on the night.
