When Radiohead played at the Bonnaroo Music and Arts Festival in Tennessee, Thom Yorke thanked Jack, in between songs, saying "This song is for Jack White. We saw him yesterday. A big thank-you to him, but we can't tell you why. You'll find out." This comment sparked speculation over a possible collaboration, but in an interview with 6 Music, Jack explained that they had visited his studio, which is part of his record label complex, and recorded some songs. "I don't know how much to tell about it except I didn't play with them or produce. But they came in and recorded at Third Man. I don't know what else to be said about that, so that's all I can probably say."
Last month, Radiohead's live tour was beset with tragedy when a stage on which they were due to perform collapsed, in Toronto. The incident resulted in the death of their drum tech, Scott Johnson, of Yorkshire. Three others were injured in the incident. The band cancelled their shows in Switzerland, Germany and Italy, which have now been re-booked for late September 2012.
