Rachel Weisz Expelled From Private School For Disruptive Attitude

Actress Rachel Weisz was asked to leave her exclusive private school because she refused to respect teachers' authority.

The Oscar winner is known for her mild manner, but she's revealed she went through a rebellious streak as a young teen at her first all-girls school, North London Collegiate in England.

And her bad attitude and constant talking ended with her being banished from the classroom altogether.

She tells Britain's Stella magazine, "I was asked to leave London Collegiate, but my mum doesn't like me to say I was expelled. I didn't try to burn down the school or anything like that; it was just anti-authority issues. I didn't think the teachers had the right to tell me what to do. I would just disobey, talk in the classroom, to put it mildly."

Weisz went on to study at London's St Paul's girls school before completing her education at Britain's prestigious Cambridge University, and admits her disruptive nature was quashed by an inspiring teacher, who saved her from being expelled a second time.

She adds, "I was very nearly asked to leave that school, too, for ongoing disobedience - the French teacher refused to teach me - but Miss Gough, who later became headmistress, completely inspired me. She saw through me and she scared me and I guess none of the other teachers did that."
