Quentin Tarantino - Quentin Tarantino Next Movie To Complete 'Rewritten History' Trilogy
Perhaps he was abuzz with inspiration after winning Best Original Screenplay for Django Unchained at last night’s Baftas, but Quentin Tarantino revealed plans to make another historical movie for his next trick, turning Django, Inglorious Bastards and what ever he decides to make next into a re-written history trilogy.
Speaking to a legion of journalists at the glitzy even in London, Tarantino – who was looking his usual unkempt yet strangely charismatic self – announced that his previous two films would keep his next project company. “This (rewritten history theme) begs a trilogy, it begs to have a third movie on this theme. I haven’t decided about what yet, but I wouldn’t be surprised…,” he explained, according to Empire. So what could he cover next? “I wouldn’t be surprised,” leaves us with many more questions than answers. Having already made comedies about the dark days of slavery and the suffering and torment inflicted by Nazi Germany, where can he go next? Could he venture into an apartheid movie? Perhaps he could go way back – as he’s shown chronology isn’t important – and look at slavery in Egypt.
Whatever he does, he should take Christoph Waltz with him. With numerous awards, including another one last night, for his supporting roles in both Django Unchained and Inglorious Bastards, it’s surely time for the Austrian to take centre stage and win Best Actor. We can only hope.
