Quentin Tarantino - Quentin Tarantino is unfazed about making people 'uneasy'

Quentin Tarantino doesn't worry about making people feel ''uneasy'' while watching his films.

The legendary director's latest film 'Django Unchained' has been nominated for several awards - including five Golden Globes - and although the language throughout is ''controversial'', with countless uses of the word 'n****a', Quentin is adamant he had to write his characters ''truthfully''.

He told ShortList magazine: ''When I'm writing, it's the characters talking. My only obligation is to present them as truthfully as possible. Each one of my characters has a truth, and I'm not gonna water it down because it might make some audience members uneasy.

''It's a movie. If it makes people feel uneasy, they don't have to watch. I don't worry about the reaction. Yeah, it's a little controversial right now, but movies aren't about right now, movies are about forever.''

Quentin, 49, also believes his scripts are ''pieces of art'', and that his enthusiasm and boldness is what attracts so many top actors - such as Leonardo DiCaprio and Jamie Foxx in his latest gun-wielding Western - to get involved with his projects.

He added: ''They like my scripts. These guys read a lot of scripts and some scripts are kind of blueprinty. My scripts are like pieces of literature on their own, like a piece of art on their own.

''I could publish them and that would be it. I don't, make them, but nevertheless I could, so they respond to that.

''And, if you've seen my movies then you know that I know how to work with actors, I can talk well with actors, I can bring the best out of them. Hopefully. So they feel like they're in good hands, they can trust me.''
