Queen Turns Down Comedy Role
British royal QUEEN ELIZABETH II has turned down a starring role in hit TV comedy LITTLE BRITAIN. The award-winning show's creators MATT LUCAS and DAVID WALLIAMS wanted one of their characters to meet the monarch at a charity gala, but the 80-year-old has decided against accepting the offer. Lucas jokes, "We found out she's not in (actor's union) Equity so we couldn't have her!" The Queen is not the first member of her family to be offered a comic role - her son PRINCE CHARLES appeared in a sketch by British comedy trio THE GOONS, and her sister PRINCESS MARGARET teamed up with late actor PETER SELLERS.
