Queen Elizabeth Ii - Queen Elizabeth Enjoyed Her Olympics Cameo, But Didn't Get Chance To Watch It
Hrh Queen Elizabeth Ii has admitted that she was impressed with her turn as James Bond's escortee at the Olympic ceremony on Sunday.
The 86-year-old royal played her part in the ceremony in a pre-recorded segment with James Bond actor Daniel Craig, being flown in by helicopter before appearing to parachute into the Olympic Stadium in Stratford. Whist she didn't get chance to watch her part as she was making her way to her seat, she admits the ceremony seemed to go "very well".
According to a report first published in the Sunday Mirror, she spoke to London Mayor Boris Johnson whilst visiting the Olympic village yesterday afternoon (July 28th), and is quoted as saying "It all seemed to go very well last night. But I didn't see my bit."
Johnson is then said to have replied with; "You were brilliant Ma'am."
Danny Boyle, who masterminded the whole ceremony, has been made the bookies favourite to bag himself a Knighthood at the next Queens honours list in the new year, the Mirror also revealed.
Bookmakers slashed the odds of Boyle being knighted in the New Year's Honours yesterday with Ladbrokes quoting odds of 5/4 - not a bad bet really.
