Pumpkins And Monkeys At Osheagaby Contributor | 11 May 2007
Sheffield band Arctic Monkeys have been added to the bill at the Osheaga festival in Montreal.
The Monkeys will be bringing their new album Favourite Worst Nightmare to a huge number of festival crowds across the world this summer, including events in Australia and Canada.
US band the Smashing Pumpkins are also set to play at the Canadian festival as their comeback trail continues with the release of their forthcoming album Zeitgeist pencilled in for June.
Osheaga already boasts an impressive line-up including Amy Winehouse, Placebo, Editors and Martha Wainwright.
Also playing at the event are US band Interpol, who will release their third album, Our Love to Admire, in July.
The band's new record follows on from the highly successful Turn on the Bright Lights and Antics.
Montreal's premiere music festival is held at the Parc Jean Drapeau, an open-air art gallery which displays works of public art.
This year's line-up shows the growing profile of a festival which has already seen some legendary performances from bands such as Flaming Lips and Zombie.
New York band Sonic Youth and Clap Your Hands Say Yeah have also played at the event.
