Pulp To Play Teenage Cancer Trust Show

Pulp are to perform at the Royal Albert Hall in aid of the Teenage Cancer Trust next month.

The reformed group - who made their live return last year after an eight-year absence - will headline the prestigious venue on March 31, the day after rapper Example opens the event.

'Price Tag' hitmaker Jessie J will headline on the third evening, April 1, while Jason Manford will top the bill for an evening of comedy on April 2.

Florence and the Machine will close the five-day series of gigs on April 3.

The Who frontman Roger Daltrey, who is patron of the Teenage Cancer Trust, is delighted with this year's line-up.

He said: ''Every year my team and I work really hard to make these concerts for Teenage Cancer Trust something special.

''This year is no exception and the line-up of artists donating their time and talent is incredible. I Hope there is something for everyone. I'm proud to be a patron of Teenage Cancer Trust. I've been involved for nearly 20 years and this is the twelfth year we've staged these shows.

''I might be a rock star but I'm also a dad. I know teenagers aren't children and they are certainly not quite adults either.

''They are a group all on their own and they need to be recognised as that.''

Across the past 11 years, the gigs have raised over £14 million for the Teenage Cancer Trust, with all funds going towards building specialist cancer units in NHS hospitals.
