Classic thriller Psycho is set for a prequel TV series.
The Bates Motel will open its doors again for a new A&E network series.
The show, titled Bates Motel, will give viewers "an intimate understanding of how Norman Bates’ psyche developed from his childhood through his teen years."
The statement continues, "Fans will have access to the dark, twisted back story and learn first hand how his mother, Norma, and her lover damaged Norman, helping forge the most well-known serial killing motel owner in history."
The classic tale has hit the big screen twice - Anthony Perkins played Bates in Alfred Hitchcock's 1960 movie, while Vince Vaughn took on the murderer in the much-maligned 1998 Psycho remake.
