Michael Jackson - Propofol Expert Scolds Conrad Murray In Court For Letting Michael Jackson Take Charge

A leading anaesthesiologist took the stand in the ongoing DR. Conrad Murray involuntary manslaughter trial in Los Angeles on Wednesday (19Oct11) and testified about the odd doctor-patient relationship between the physician and his client Michael Jackson.
Expert witness Dr. Steven Shafer told jurors Dr. Murray let the tragic singer order him around like he was a house cleaner.
The medic, who was the prosecution's final witness, said, "What I saw was a patient who stated what he wanted: 'I want this. I want this. I want this.' And I saw Conrad Murray said, 'Yes. Tell me what you want and I'll do it.' That is what an employee is."
Dr. Shafer insisted his colleague should have known better than to give Jackson the anaesthetic Propofol, which led to the singer's death in June, 2009.
He added, "Dr. Murray should have said, 'Michael Jackson, I am not giving you Propofol. I am not giving you anything. You have a sleep disorder and you need to be evaluated.'"
Jackson died from an overdose of Propofol and Murray is charged with administering the fatal dose. The physician contends the singer gave himself the dose that cost him his life.
Dr. Shafer also spoke candidly about the Propofol his colleague ordered in the months leading up to Jackson's death, calling it "an extraordinary amount to purchase to administer to a single individual."
The expert witness also told the court that Dr. Murray committed at least a dozen "egregious" violations of the standard of care, which he defined as acts that posed a foreseeable danger to his patient's life.
The prosecutors are set to wrap up their case on Thursday (20Oct11) and Dr. Murray's defence team will begin its case on Friday (21Oct11).

No- Michael was in the 'throes' of death & if assistedwith air-way clearence he 'could' be alive 2day. Dr. Shafer said: "the relationship was on par with employer/employee relationship -Michael demanded & was given! at the end of the day Murray was a greedy sod demanding 5 million dollars a year & 4 what? dishing out dangerous drugs! there were no old injected sites on the body as Murray was 'feeding' a consistant site via a drip. That was 1 track Murray could not cover. Michael was murdered, end of.

Well put DonnaDiva - I had not heard/read that part about the beads though. I actually laughed y'day when the Barrister who gives out his comments said "if I were on the Defense panel & had a knife I would have cut my wrists" - due to the brillant remarks/profession of Shafer. It really is all about money, & a shame things had to come to this - the end of a star performer. There will never be another Michael Jackson God rest his soul.
