Producer Martin Rushent Dead
06 June 2011Rushent passed away on Sunday (04Jun11). No further details of his death were available as WENN went to press.
He started his career as an engineer in the 1970s and worked with rockers including Fleetwood Mac and T-Rex, before launching his own label, Genetic.
Rushent then worked with a wave of new '80s stars including the Stranglers and Human League, producing their hit Don't You Want Me?
A tribute message on The Stranglers website reads, "We have just received the sad news that another early band collaborator, Martin Rushent, passed away yesterday aged 63."
Rushent is survived by his wife Ceri and four children.
