Producer Linked To The Mob
A successful Hollywood producer who has worked on BABEL and Garden State has been named as the girlfriend of a married mobster, arrested this week (begs17Dec07) for running a multi-million dollar illegal gambling ring.
The FBI has taped telephone conversations between Paramount Pictures executive vice president of production Pamela Abdy and Joseph 'Little Joe' Perna, a reputed member of the Luchese crime family - one of New York's famous 'five families'.
In the conversation, Perna discusses collecting debts and Abdy likens movie industry figures to mobsters. A relationship between Abdy and Perna - who is married and lives with his wife Rosanna in New Jersey - is also discussed.
Abdy's uncle, former Luchese crime boss Martin Taccetta, 58, was also arrested along with Perna's two brothers and father. Abdy has yet to comment on the arrests.
