Princess Lilian, Duchess Of Halland has died at the age of 97.
The royal passed away at her home in Stockholm, Sweden on Sunday (10Mar13). Her cause of death was unknown as Wenn went to press, although it was announced in 2010 that she had been suffering from Alzheimer's disease.
Born Lillian May Davies in 1915, she was raised in Wales and became a fashion model before marrying British actor Ivan Craig in 1940.
The marriage broke down and Davies embarked on a relationship with Prince Bertil, Duke of Halland, and the union became one of Sweden's best-known love stories.
They did not wed until 1976 because of the prince's obligations to the throne and Lilian's status as a divorced commoner.
Prince Bertil died in 1997; the couple did not have any children.
Paying tribute to Princess Lilian following the news of her death, Swedish Prime Minister Fredrik Reinfeldt said that a "much loved and appreciated member of the royal family has now passed away".
