Prince William - Prince William Had 'Memorable' Honeymoon
Prince William and Princess Catherine have returned from their honeymoon in the Seychelles, praising it as ''memorable and special''.
Prince William and Princess Catherine have returned home from their "memorable and special" Seychelles honeymoon.
The newlyweds - who married in a lavish ceremony in London's Westminster Abbey on April 29 - spent ten days together on the secluded North Island in the Indian Ocean archipelago before flying home on Saturday (21.05.11) and have thanked the Seychelles Government for their assistance.
A spokesman for St James's Palace said: "The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge have returned to the UK from their honeymoon in the Seychelles.
"The couple thoroughly enjoyed their time together, and they are grateful to the Seychelles Government for their assistance in making the honeymoon such a memorable and special ten days."
Staff at the luxury £4,000-a-night retreat where the couple stayed revealed the prince called their destination a "piece of heaven".
William is quoted by the Daily Star newspaper as saying: "I've had the best diving experience I've ever experience while I've been here. It has been amazing. We have had a truly magical time.
"One of the main reasons we came here was because it's a country that looks after its own environment. Neither of us want to leave. "
The Seychelles High Commissioner to Great Britain praised the couple for their "warmth and humility".
He said: "In a world of so much turmoil they bring a welcome and much needed breath of fresh air with their warmth and humility."
The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are now expected to return to the island of Anglesey in Wales where William is working as a Royal Air Force (RAF) search and rescue helicopter pilot.
