Posh Documentary 'To Go Primetime'by Contributor | 06 June 2007
US television executives are planning to turn Victoria Beckham's forthcoming reality series into a primetime special, according to reports.
Sources from American TV network NBC, cited by the Hollywood Reporter magazine, made the claim following rumours in the British press that the former Spice Girl has abandoned the show due to family commitments.
If successful the special could lead to further one-off specials or a series, the sources indicated.
NBC first announced plans for a six-episode series charting Beckham's move to the US back in February.
The singer turned fashion designer is currently in the process of moving to Beverly Hills with her three sons and husband David Beckham, who is set to make his debut for the Los Angeles Galaxy soccer team after his contract with Real Madrid expires at the end of this month.
Rumours that her fly-on-the-wall series has now been downgraded follow a report in the Daily Mirror earlier this week that Mrs Beckham had "walked out" on the show after refusing to fly out to LA for a fortnight's filming, which would have made the star miss her spouse's much-heralded return to the England football team for their friendly match against Brazil.
Speaking about the NBC series, her spokeswoman told the paper at the time: "Victoria has had great fun filming the show."
"However the schedule was incredibly tight and it is up to the network what happens next."
Still at least Beckham, aka Posh Spice, has had some good news this week.
Glamour magazine has crowned the star both its woman of the year and entrepreneur of the year in recognition of her growing fashion empire.
