Portia De Rossi - Portia De Rossi And Ellen Degeneres Reveal $49 Million Home
Portia De Rossi and wife Ellen Degeneres revealed the grandeur of their luxury Beverly Hills home after inviting Architectural Digest into the three-acre compound for the magazine's latest issue. The property, worth a reported $49 million, played host to the couple's wedding in 2008.
Among the many quirky touches in the sprawling mansion is a glass Ping Pong table, and several paintings by notable artists including Andy Warhol. Elsewhere, tables, chairs and blankets from various continents sit amongst luxury ornaments - a large swimming pool gives a sweeping view of Los Angeles. Speaking about the property in the accompanying interview, DeGeneres said, "We never had a house when I was growing up. We always rented. But my father would dream, and we used to look at houses all the time. I'd pick out which bedroom would be mine and get all excited" The comedienne revealed the first thing she did after making money was "buy a house", with De Rossi joking, "(And then) Another one.And another one and another one and another one". The couple became engaged after DeGeneres proposed with a 3-carat diamond ring - they married at the mansion on 16th August 2008 in a wedding witnessed by around 20 guests.
De Rossi is best known for her roles as Nelle Porter on Ally MCBeal and Lindsay Bluth Funke on Arrest Development. She was previously married to documentary filmmaker MEL METCALFE.
