Adult star Cameron Bay has been identified as the actress who potentially tested positive for Hiv and brought the porn film industry to a halt this week (beg19Aug13).

Mark Schechter, who runs the agency which represents the actress, has revealed his client was given the bad news after a regular screening for sexually transmitted diseases on Tuesday (20Aug13).

The news prompted officials at porn industry trade organisation The Free Speech Coalition to issue a moratorium on shooting as they investigated fears Bay may have contracted the disease on an X-rated film set.

Bay was quoted in an industry publication, AVN Media Network, as confirming that the test results, but they are not final at this stage.

Schechter tells the Los Angeles Times that additional testing is taking place to confirm the results, adding, "Any time any performer tests (positive) to any Std there are always additional tests to rule out any false positives or contamination."

The final results are expected early next week (beg26Aug13).

In her interview with AVN Media Network, the actress said, "If it is (positive) I will of course do everything I can to spread awareness and take care of myself and do the things that are necessary or in my power to do."

According to Schechter, Bay was last tested on 27 July (13) and the results of that screening were negative.
