Politician Demands Mccartney Apologise For Bush Gag

A top U.S. politician is demanding Sir Paul McCartney publicly apologise for a joke he made at former President GEORGE W. Bush's expense during an appearance at the White House on Wednesday (02Jun10).

Republican John Boehner was not amused when the former Beatle poked fun at the ex-leader's intellect as he became the first non-American to collect the Gershwin Prize for Popular Song from Bush's successor, President Barack Obama.

MCCartney said, "After the last eight years, it's great to have a president who knows where the library is."

I agree that maybe Paul shouldn't say that being a guest, but let's face it!! He was absolutely right!!!!And to all the haters that trashes Paul... well that won't keep him awake in the night and certainly an apology won't make Bush smarter...Damn! Nothing could!!

Why should he apologize for speaking the truth? Bush was a terrible president and it seems like everyone forgot about it. Paul's comment makes me love him even more. I will be disappointed if he does apologize, there's no need.

I have been a Beatles fan all my life, grew up listening to them and still do not turn off a Beatles song when it comes on the radio. I will still, of course, continue to enjoy their music. However, Paul McCartney was at the White House getting a music honor, but decides to insult an American President. I don't care who you are, no matter what your party affiliation, no matter what you think of President Bush, that was a very disrespectful thing to say and totally unnecessary. I am no longer a personal fan of Paul McCartney the person, only his music.

WOW, what a comment from Sir Paul? He calls Bush stupid coming from a Yale graduate and an MBA from Harvard. So if that's stupid then where that leave you Paul. I don't see those credentials on you. I quess that puts you lower than him on the intelligence scale. Well what do you expect it was a stupip comment. Oh for all you liberal out there that's going to say Daddy got W. in, maybe that's true and that's how alot of kids get in from the left and right, but staying in and graduating is a whole other story cant say daddy got him the grades cause it would have came out in the election and since when can a Republican get grades for his child in an all liberal Ivey League School.I can admit Bush didn't do the greatest job in the world, but look what we have now. He's not doing very well.

Not surprised by McCartney comment, or audience response - both despicable and totally classless. Bush is the one that displays class by ignoring incoherent liberal yapping. 9/11 would have dire consequences for anyone in the White House. At least Bush had the balls to go after the terrorists, like he said he would. Gore or Kerry would have just wimpered and apologized, like the current 1600 Pennsyvania Ave. resident likes to do. Really HOPE to see a CHANGE in leadership in 2012, so America can have some actual leadership again.
