Michael Jackson - Police Still Investigating Reports Katherine Jackson Is Missing

Conflicting reports from Katherine Jackson's children, her granddaughter Paris and lawyer Sandra Ribera prompted cops to investigate claims the 82-year-old family matriarch had both vanished after boarding a flight to see her sons in concert in New Mexico, Arizona, and Las Vegas and was "fine" and staying with family members.

Police spokesman Steve Whitmore says, "We are making every effort to find her."

He insists police will call off their search once they have made contact with Jackson.

Her son Jermaine assured fans that his mother is fine shortly after the missing persons report was filed, writing on Twitter.com, "I want to reassure everyone (inc all sudden medical experts) that Mother is fine but is resting up in AZ (Arizona) on the orders of a doctor, not us."

But his niece Paris, who is late brother Michael's daughter, challenged his comments in a tweet early on Sunday (22Jul12), writing, "Yes, my grandmother is missing. i haven't spoken with her in a week i want her home now."

Attorney Ribera tells WENN, "Michael's children have still not heard from or been able to get in contact with their grandmother and no one has been able to confirm her physical location. She was in very good health when she left last Sunday and there was no evidence of any need for her to be under a doctor's care."

The latest family drama comes just days after Paris Jackson challenged her aunts and uncles over a letter they wrote contesting her father's will.
