Police Seize Weapons Destined For Brad Pitt Flick
Hungarian authorities have confirmed that they have seized 85 weapons that had been shipped to Budapest for use in scenes in Brad Pitt's zombie movie, World War Z. Us magazine quoted Hajdu Janos, the director of Hungary's Anti-Terrorism Unit, and Zsolt Bodnar, the deputy director, as saying that the weapons were full-functional and that most were automatic, military-style assault rifles. The weapons were seized at the airport in Budapest. "Guns like these are highly illegal to transport even if they were to be used as stage guns," they told the magazine. A source said that paperwork accompanying the shipment indicated that the weapons were non-functional but that the authorities determined that they were actually in working order. The seizure threatens to delay production of the film, which a magazine source said is already over budget and over schedule.
