Police Say Whitney Houston Death 'Not Criminal', As Case Is Closed
On the day of her death, Houston was discovered by her assistant, in her hotel room at the Beverley Hills Hilton. She was face down in her bathtub and was bleeding from her nose. Police reportedly found a spoon, mirror and rolled up paper in the room, along with traces of white powder. Houston had a long history of substance abuse problems, that have been well documented and held responsible for the decline of her popularity. Her death came the day before the 2012 Grammy awards and the ceremony was rearranged to include a number of tributes to Whitney; a former Grammy winner herself. Jennifer Hudson performed a rendition of her biggest-selling song, 'I Will Always Love You,' originally by Dolly Parton.
A recording of the 911 call that was made by a hotel employee has also been released to the media. Her name was not given in the call, she was merely identified as a 46 year old woman and the caller stated that she was not breathing.
