Plagiarism Claims 'Inspire Chris Martin'by Contributor | 22 May 2009
COLDPLAY frontman CHRIS MARTIN has revealed that he finds being sued inspiring.
The musician, whose hits include FIX YOU and SPEED OF SOUND , said that being sued for plagiarism by guitarist JOE SATRIANI, who asserts that the band's hit VIVA LA VIDA rips off his single IF I COULD FLY, has inspired him to work harder on new tracks.
In an interview for the band's official website, Martin said: "You think, 'right, if everyone's trying to take away our best song, then we'd better write 25 better ones'. And so just at the point where I was thinking about getting fat and becoming complacent, I've been finding more inspiration."
He added that the band have more to prove than ever.
COLDPLAY's drummer WILL CHAMPION recently spoke out against the claims in an interview with HamptonRoads.com, saying that it is "difficult to be accused of something when you know you didn't do it".
