BRAD PITT is set to star in a Hollywood version of hit British TV crime drama STATE OF PLAY.
The BBC mini-series, written by PAUL ABBOTT, creator of popular British TV show SHAMELESS, was originally aired in 2003.
In the big-screen adaptation, Pitt will play the role of an investigative journalist and former campaign manager for a high-flying politician, who uncovers a murder conspiracy involving his former boss.
Pitt once considered a career as a journalist - until his skills as an actor earned him a breakthrough role in 1991 film THELMA AND LOUISE, starring alongside SUSAN SARANDON, GEENA DAVIS and HARVEY KEITEL.
