Pinter Returns To Acting
Acclaimed playwright HAROLD PINTER is to return to the stage after battling illness to star in a one-man show. The Nobel Prize winner has made a remarkable recovery since being struck down by a mouth disease last year (05) which threatened to rob him of speech. Despite the scare, he's eager to return to the stage in SAMUEL BECKETT's challenging play KRAPP'S LAST TAPE at London's Royal Court theatre. Artistic director IAN RICKSON says, "I was obviously aware of Harold's health issues but right the way through we were determined to work on the play together. His wife ANTONIA FRASER said she would form a gang to make sure it would happen and it's been a gang of me and her."
