Pink Floyd Will Never Record Again

Pink Floyd will never go back into the studio because it would be a "waste of time".

The 'Another Brick in the Wall' band have been officially defunct since 1996, although they have reformed for a few one-off charity shows - notably at LIVE 8 in 2005 - but drummer Nick Mason has ruled out any possibility of them going into the studio and recording again.

He told guitarworld.com: "I think there's no chance of going back into the studio, because that would be a waste of everyone's time.

"It takes so long to make a recording, which is sort of devalued, as a lot of records have been. They're downloaded for nothing, so you end up spending a year working on something that was just a giveaway."

The band's remaining three members - Nick, guitarist DAVID GILMOUR and bassist Roger Waters - may have had disputes in the past, but relations between them have thawed in recent times, with all three of them reunited onstage in May at a performance of their album 'The Wall' by Roger in London.

Nick remains Hopeful they will eventually play together as band again, adding: "I have a different view to David. If you ask David, he'll go, 'Not a chance,' where I sort of live in hope and think that Roger and David are capable of rising to an occasion.

"So if there were another Live 8, or something close to their heart, I think that could swing something. But I certainly don't think we're headed off on a world tour, either. But I would do something for the right reasons."

Pink Floyd have this month released release remastered versions of all 14 of their albums, as well as started a series of special edition 'Immersion' packs of their most classic works.
