Pink Floyd Artist Thorgerson Turned Down By Dylan
Thorgerson, who created the eye-catching art for all of Pink Floyd's album covers, had long dreamed of working with Dylan - and was thrilled when he got the call to create images for his hero's upcoming UK-only best of.
Thorgerson says, "He turned me down, or at least his manager did.
"Dylan doesn't do compilations, so I guess this was someone else's concept.
"The guy that I work for was well pleased with what I did; he thought it was some of my best work, but Dylan's manager fired me. I guess it was just a bit too leftfield for him."
But Thorgerson isn't exactly desperate for work - the 63-year-old photographer/artist has just completed commissioned work for a new 10CC DVD and has reteamed with Pink Floyd for their upcoming box set Oh, By The Way...
He admits he's always keen to work and will create art and photographs for anyone - even if he doesn't like the music.
He adds, "I'm an old tart, I'll work for anyone."
