Piers Morgan - Piers Morgan On 'Embarassing' Christine O'donnell Interview
Piers Morgan has spoken of his disbelief at Wednesday evening's interview with former Tea Party candidate Christine O'Donnell, who walked off Cnn's 'Tonight Show' set after being quizzed about her views on gay marriage.
In a bizarre satellite broadcast, the politician was clearly given signals off-camera to end the interview with Morgan before someone eventually obscured the camera lens. Speaking to Broadcasting & Cable, the British presenter said, "We watched it back and it was just so odd". Piers claims Christine's actions seemed more unusual considering they had shared a breakfast together in New York before the show began. O'Donnell branded the television host "rude" for asking about gay marriage, something Morgan denies, saying, "From an interviewing standpoint, I don't think there was anything that would constitute rudeness. The issue of gay marriage is clearly significant in the wake of Michelle Bachmann", adding, "I've learned never to be surprised. I would if I were her. I think she will watch it back and be embarrassed".
Following the interview, a clearly baffled Morgan mentioned O'Donnell's new book 'Troublemaker: Let's Do What It Takes to Make America Great Again". The presenter says he doesn't think the incident was a stunt to sell more copies, but is happy to take the publicity for his own show, saying, "I'm not complaining!".
