Philip Seymour Hoffman - Philip Seymour Hoffman Rumored For 'Hunger Games' Sequel
Whilst the world calms down from getting over-excited about Robert Pattinson appearing in the next Hunger Games movie 'Catching Fire', Deadline.com snuck out a bit of news, suggesting that an entirely different actor may well be joining the cast. Rumour has it that Philip Seymour Hoffman could well be signing up to the sequel for this year's hugely popular adaptation of Suzanne Collins' popular teen novel.
According to Deadline, Psh has been offered the role of Plutarch Heavensbee in Catching Fire, which will see Jennifer Lawrence, Liam Hemsworth and Josh Hutcherson return to the roles of Katniss, Peeta and Gale respectively. Philip Seymour Hoffman is currently relaxing after a lengthy stage run in Death of Salesman, in which he played the iconic role of Willy Loman. Many were surprised that he didn't win the 'Best Actor' award at Sunday's Tony awards (perhaps none more so than British comedian James Corden, who did win the gong).
It seems that, whether he takes the role or not, Hoffman will most likely be taking a little break for a while. Not only is the role of Willy Loman one of the most taxing ones for an actor to take on, but Deadline have also reported that Hoffman has left the Paradigm agency, with whom he has had an 18 year working relationship. It's expected that he will remain without an agent for a while before making his next career move.
