Phil Spector - Phil Spector Suing City Officials From Behind Bars
Music mogul Phil Spector is suing City of Alhambra officials in California from behind bars - for allegedly destroying the home where he murdered actress Lana Clarkson almost a decade ago.
Spector was convicted of the crime in 2009 and is currently serving 19 years to life behind bars - but that isn't stopping him from taking care of business at home, where his wife Rachelle still lives.
In a lawsuit filed on Thursday (19Apr12), the disgraced hitmaker claims a city-commissioned construction project on the hill where his home stands has caused significant damage to his property - the biggest residential building in the area.
He is suing city officials for unspecified damages and compensation for loss of property value, according to Tmz.com.
In February (12), Spector lost his latest bid for freedom when Supreme Court officials turned down his request to appeal his conviction.
