Badfinger - Pete Ham To Be Honoured With Blue Plaque
Tragic Badfinger star Pete Ham is to be remembered with a special blue plaque in his Welsh hometown.
The tribute, which is traditionally placed at significant historical sites across Britain, will be unveiled at a ceremony in Swansea on 27 April (13) by the rocker's daughter Petera Ham, who was born a month after her dad took his own life in 1975.
Petera says, "I miss my father every day and I know that he will be there at the event looking down on family and friends, as they sit in his beautiful Swansea and listen to his music and honour his memory.
"I'm honoured to represent my father at the event and I'd like to thank Swansea council for the beautiful memorial plaque that they will install in honour of him."
Ham was a founder of Badfinger and wrote three of the band's hits, No Matter What, Day After Day and Baby Blue, as well as the ballad Without You, which won him two Ivor Novello awards and later became a hit for both Harry Nilsson and Mariah Carey.
The blue plaque will be displayed near the entrance to Swansea's railway station.
