Late rocker Pete Ham and his band Badfinger are to be remembered with a heritage plaque in Swansea, Wales.

The honour will be unveiled at the Ivey Place entrance of the city's railway station on 27 April (13). Badfinger were originally called The Iveys - a name taken from the street where they once practiced - before becoming Badfinger after Ham and his bandmates became the first band signed to the Beatles' Apple label.

As well as enjoying chart success with their own hits Come and Get It, No Matter What and Baby Blue, Ham and bandmate Tom Evans co-wrote Without You, which became a smash-hit for Harry Nilsson and later Mariah Carey.

Ham hanged himself on 24 April, 1975. Evans also took his own life in 1983.
