Pete Doherty - Pete Doherty Pens Debut Novel

The Libertines frontman has fled his native Britain and now lives in Paris, France after years of controversy surrounding his drug demons and his former romance with supermodel Kate Moss.

He is adamant he was made a scapegoat by critics for his refusal to hide his addictions to heroin and crack cocaine - and now he's using his public vilification as the basis of the plot for his debut novel.

Doherty tells NME magazine, "It's about an English guy who's chased out of England. He's a bit like an old £20 note, a bit crumpled and glorious. Slightly out of date."
