Pete Doherty Learns French For New Movie Role
The former Libertines frontman made his big screen debut earlier this year (12) alongside Charlotte Gainsbourg in Confession of a Child of the Century, but his acting skills were widely panned by critics.
The movie's poor reception has not dented Doherty's acting ambitions and he's now landed a role as a drug-addled male prostitute in a new film, but the producers have given him a year to learn how to speak French for the part.
Doherty tells upcoming Sky TV show Hernu 'N Harris: Unhinged, "I've been offered another part. It's a crackhead rent boy. The script's beautiful but it's in French, so they gave me a year to learn French and get a six-pack."
Doherty was kicked out of a rehabilitation clinic in Thailand earlier this week (beg16Jul12) following another failed attempt to beat his long-running addictions to heroin and crack cocaine.
