Peta Upset By Jackson's Blackglama Campaign

Animal activists have taken aim at JANET JACKSON for signing on as the new face of fur firm BlackGlama.

The pop superstar was announced as the brand's new 'What Becomes a Legend Most?' spokesmodel on Thursday (15Jul10) and she'll model high-quality mink items in the ads - and PETA bosses have been quick to react.

Spokeswoman Amanda Schinke says, "It's amazing what celebrities will do when their careers are on a downslide, but we didn't think that Janet was this desperate.

"Surely she knows enough about suffering and unjustified death to recognise that both occur in the production of a fur coat. We are asking her to think again and to donate these stolen skins to be used as bedding for animals orphaned by other human-caused disasters, such as loss of habitat."

Maybe Bob Barker will comment on wearing furs. I'm sure he stands behind Peta. That's why he quit doing the Miss USA/Universe Pageants in 1987. In 1987, he requested the removal of fur prizes and stepped down as host when those in charge of the pageant refused. The animals were more important than the money. If Janet would just think about the pain and suffering that went into the fur coat, she wouldn't do it for the money either!

PETA are hypocrites and all they do is try and get attention at anybody's expensive. What upstanding respectable organization talks about somebody's career. They are so stupid and people are sick of them and their whining. They claim to be so into animal protection but that is a bunch of crap, because I never see them defending the horses who are whipped during horse races, or the hunting of deers and birds. My point is if you're going to talk about being a voice for animals, than why do they pick and choose what animals they want to protect...again, they are a bunch of hyprocrites just looking for attention.

Janet Jacksons' career is not on the downside. She looks good wearing those furs while making money. PETA should find other ways to draw attention to their organization. I like furs, I'm just not famous to draw attention from them...I also like animals with fur, and crocs.......
