Perry's Fans Sleep On Streets To Hear Her Teenage Dream

KATY PERRY shut down New York City's Rockefeller Center on Friday (27Aug10), performing for hundreds of fans who had slept on the streets since Wednesday (25Aug10) to hear her sing.

The pop star played a free concert at an outdoor plaza in the Big Apple to promote her new album, Teenage Dream, on the Today Show, and fans began queueing up days in advance.

Perry showed her generous side earlier in the week when she found out the length fans were willing to go to - and thanked them for their loyalty by handing out customised pillows and blankets with her name printed on them.

In a post on her Twitter.com page, she wrote, "I had special Teenage Dream pillows & blankys made just for those of you that are camping out for the Today show! Yay!"

And Perry's thoughtfulness paid off big - hundreds of her fans were wide-eyed and singing along as the star belted out her hits.
