Pennywise - Pennywise Singer Undergoes Back Surgery After Stage Collapse

The punk rockers cut short their set at the Full Force Festival when Teglas fell to the floor in pain, due to complications from a herniated disc.

He underwent an operation on Saturday (30Jun12), but the band has been forced to cancel a series of summer (12) shows to allow Teglas time to recover.

A statement on Pennywise's Facebook.com page reads, "We would like to thank everyone who has expressed care and concern for Zoli after he collapsed on stage at the Full Force Festival due to lower back complications from a herniated disk (sic).

"He had an emergency procedure done on his back on Saturday as a result of the severe back pain he had been experiencing throughout the tour. The surgery went as perfect as could be. He's recovering very well and is already up and slowly moving around. Zoli is in good spirits and is recovering nicely.

"Unfortunately due to his recovery time, the last leg of the tour will be cancelled. The band will however be back out to finish the last scheduled tour date in Spain at the Aupa Lumbreiras Festival on July 13th."
