Penny Marshall: 'Stop Writing About My Imminent Death'
Actress/moviemaker Penny Marshall has criticised the U.S. tabloid media for running so many articles about her failing health.
The A League of Their Own director is sick of reading stories about her multiple cancer battles and now she is urging fans to stop believing what they read.
She tells U.S. news show Entertainment Tonight, "The public is stupid... The rags (tabloids) write about it and they get it wrong. (They have me) dying every three months. I'm fine... I've dodged a big bullet, but I'm clean as a whistle."
Marshall has battled back from liver and lung cancer and a brain tumour, and she insists the negative stories about her health have prevented her from getting work.
She adds, "Because certain rags write, 'She's dying, pray for her...' I can't get work... I'm a little p**sed."
