Pee-Wee Plays Cupid For Couple

Child-like comedian PEE-WEE HERMAN turned cupid onstage in Los Angeles last week (28Jan10) when he helped a fan propose to his girlfriend.

Herman, aka actor Paul Reubens, agreed to invite Ben Zurawski and his partner Summer Violett onstage at the end of his Pee-Wee Herman Show at Club Nokia, pretending the couple had won first prize in a raffle.

Instead Zurawski got down on one knee and asked his girlfriend to be his wife.

Violett tells U.S. TV show Entertainment Tonight, "I was so excited, I didn't hear him ask the question. I couldn't imagine a more romantic and wonderful proposal."

The couple met on an Internet dating site and bonded over their shared love for all things Pee-Wee Herman.
