Pee Wee Herman Hits The Streets Of New York
Herman began his tour of the city at the Intercontinental Hotel in Times Square, and regularly kept fans up-to-date with his progress via a series of image uploads to his social networking pages, reports the New York Daily News. On Wednesday, he visited the Upper West Side, appearing on the 'Regis & Kelly' show, before moving on to the Lincoln Square American Folk Art Museum, and finishing at 'M&M World'. On Thursday, the 58-year-old tweeted, "Ok, my first stop is the Brooklyn Bridge (manhattan side)!", and later posted a picture of himself on the City Hall steps.
The television star won an Emmy Award for his acclaimed children's series 'Pee-Wee's Playhouse' that ran on CBS from 1986 to 1991. The new stage-show, 'The Pee Wee Herman Show' will begin its run at the Stephen Sondheim Theatre in New York on October 26th 2010.
