Paul Rudd is set to star in 'Idiot Brother'.
The 'I Love You Man' actor has signed on to play the lead in the comedy which will be directed by Jesse Peretz - who worked with Rudd in the 2001 film 'The Chateau'.
In 'Idiot Brother' the 41-year-old star plays an idealist with an overbearing mother who brings truth, happiness and a sunny disposition into the lives of his three ambitious sisters, after crashing into their family home.
Production names attached to the title include Anthony Bregman, of 'Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind' fame, who said: "Everyone on Earth who has a brother has an idiot brother.
"I come from a family of three brothers, so I know that better than anyone. And what could beat the prospect of working with Jesse and Paul, who are like brothers to each other to bring that message out into the world?"
The script was written by Peretz's sister, Evgenia Peretz, along with David Schisgall and production is set to begin in July in New York with the parts of the sisters to be cast soon.
Rudd next stars opposite Steve Carell in the comedy 'Dinner for Schmucks' which will be released in July, as well as 'How Do You Know', opposite Reese Witherspoon which will open on December 17 .
