The former Beatle - who turned 70 today - doesn't need top work out to keep fit, because his energetic concerts keep him in top shape.

He told the Daily Star newspaper: ''I've been having cardio-vascular exercise for years but it's on stage.

''I can't believe I do a three-hour show without taking a breath.

''You assume you would be feeling it now but it's the opposite.''

Meanwhile, three Beatles songs feature on the draft playlist for the Olympic opening ceremony.

'She Love You', 'The End' and 'Hey Jude' are among 86 tunes which will be played at the £27 million, July 27 extravaganza.

All songs will be mixed by DJ duo Underworld, who are expected to include their own 1996 dance number 'Born Slippy'.

The line-up will comprise of an eclectic mix of British artists including Frankie Goes to Hollywood, Sugababes, The Verve and the Rolling Stones.

Creative director Danny Boyle said of the ceremony: ''We're trying to make it feel like a live recording of a film.''
