Paul Mccartney Quits Weed Smoking For Daughter Beatrice

Sir Paul McCartney says he has finally given up smoking cannabis, due to a "sense of responsibility" in caring for his daughter Beatrice. MCCartney, 69, made the comment during an interview with Rolling Stone magazine.

The former Beatle said, "I smoked my share. When you're bringing up a youngster, your sense of responsibility does kick in, if you're lucky, at some point.Enough's enough - you just don't seem to think it's necessary". During their acrimonious split and subsequent divorce proceedings, MCCartney's ex-wife Heather Mills had claimed Sir Paul smoked marijuana as often as most people drink cups of tea. In the interview with Rolling Stone, Paul declared his passion for "wacky baccy", but insisted it was finally time to give it up. Perhaps more interestingly, Paul also revealed how The Beatles once considered a reunion, but eventually decided it against it so as not to "spoil the idea" of the band. He did not go into detail as to when the group considered the reformation. It is understood to have been Bob Dylan who introduced MCCartney to marijuana in the mid-Sixties, with Paul and John Lennon then experimenting with a number of drugs to fuel creative inspiration. Their track Lucy in the Sky With Diamonds was once banned by the Bbc for its suggested undertones.

A well-publicized user of marijuana over the years, MCCartney has been arrested several times for his use of the drug. In 1972, he was arrested in Scotland and Sweden for possession of cannabis.

Some very interesting comments left so far.Just shows the ignorance alot of people have regarding cannibis.Perhaps people should a learn a little bit more about it before saying "grow up old man".Does that person have a problem with having a glass of wine? Perhaps they do perhaps they don't.There is no proof that cannibis is more or less harmful than wine or any other drink. Check your facts!!!!!

You would think it is something to be proud of that he has given up cannabis at 69. Anybody else would have had social work at their door, if not the police. Maybe Heather Mills should have been listened to more. Sorry Paul you are no more thought off than the scum that lingers round this town.
