Paul Hogan - Paul Hogan's Accounts To Be Reviewed By Tax Officials
Paul Hogan has lost a bid to stop Australian tax authorities auditing his personal accounts.
The Crocodile Dundee star has long been battling with tax officials Down Under in a dispute over his finances. A criminal inquiry into his financial dealings was dropped in November (10) but a probe by the Australian Tax Office (Ato) is still ongoing.
He filed a legal challenge in the country's Federal Court in a bid to stop Ato bosses from reviewing material seized from the home of his accountant in 2005 as part of the long-running investigation, but the application was dismissed by a judge on Friday (08Apr11).
Justice Nye Perram ruled the information can be used to assist in Ato audits, according to the Aap.
Hogan, who denies any wrongdoing, has accused Ato chiefs of ruining his reputation and costing him work and wants to sue over the failed criminal investigation.
