Paul Greengrass is in negotiations to direct a remake of 'Fantastic Voyage'.
The filmmaker - best known for helming action movies 'The Bourne Supremacy' and 'The Bourne Ultimatum' - is in early talks with 20th Century Fox to work on a reimagining of the 1966 sci-fi adventure.
The remake will also involve James Cameron's Lightstorm Entertainment, and will be shot in 3-D using the same technology used in 'Avatar'.
'Fantastic Voyage' tells the tale of a dying scientist whose only hope of survival is to have his colleagues shrunk and injected into his bloodstream to rescue him, it originally starred Raquel Welch and Stephen Boyd.
It won two Oscars for Best Art Direction and Best Effects, as well as being nominated for a further three.
No stars have yet been lined up for the remake.
Paul's latest film 'Green Zone' starring Matt Damon is still in cinemas, and his only other project is war drama 'They Marched Into Sunlight', due for release in 2013.
