Patti Smith - Patti Smith Planning Second Memoir

The critically acclaimed biography, which chronicled the People Have the Power singer's friendship with late photographer Robert Mapplethorpe, won the 2010 National Book Award for non-fiction.

The big win has inspired Smith to write more - and she's planning to release a book of poetry and a novel thriller in the next 12 months.

She says, "I think I'll spend most of 2011 writing."

It is not known what part of her life the new book will focus on, but insiders expect her to tell all about her romance and marriage to late punk star Fred 'Sonic' Smith.
