Patricia Heaton - Patricia Heaton's Politics Have Cost Her Acting Roles
Patricia Heaton's says her politics have meant she has missed out on a number of television roles. Patricia Heaton, best known for playing Ray Romano's wife on 'Everybody Loves Raymond', says her conservative views on subjects such as abortion have negatively affected her career.
Speaking to Popeater, Heaton says some liberal producers and directors have ignored her because of her beliefs. The 53-year-old Christian said, "We know for a fact there are some people who have said they wouldn't want to work with us because of our politics". Her husband, the British actor David Hunt, added, "We get lumped in with lunatics". Heaton is reportedly the Honorary Chair of 'Feminists For Life' a non-partisan organization which opposes abortion. She is also said to be against euthanasia and advocates a "pro-life" stance. Despite how certain figures in Hollywood perceive her political views, the actress says she is more concerned with her own faith, saying, "My feeling is all these things come from God and as long as I know I'm staying in line with him, I don't have to worry if there is backlash. God will open any doors he wants to open and if he closes doors that's fine too".
Her marriage to David is Patricia Heaton's second. Her previous marriage ended in divorce in 1987. Patricia and David have four sons together, Samuel, John, Joseph and Daniel Patrick.
