Duffy - Patagonia Dominates Bafta Cymru Awards
Singer Duffy's debut movie Patagonia has swept the boards at the Welsh version of the British Academy of Film and Television Arts (Bafta) Awards.
The movie, about a young Welsh couple which travels to Argentina, won the best director honour for Marc Evans at the 21st annual Bafta Cymru Awards in Cardiff on Sunday (30Sep12).
The drama, which featured Mercy hitmaker Duffy in her first film role, also received honours for best editor, sound, and hair and make-up.
Accepting his trophy, Evans told the crowd, "I would just like to thank everybody who went on the journey with us - it was an amazing journey.
"I would like to thank the Welsh, the Argentinians, the Irishman, the Brazilian, a couple of Poles, the Scottish lady, the Kiwi, and a couple of English people too. We were a ramshackle bunch and it was a fantastic journey through Wales and through Patagonia.
"Making films is quite tough in Wales and making films in Welsh is even tougher."
Welsh actor Craig Roberts was also named best actor for his lead role in coming-of-age drama Submarine at the ceremony.
